Buck Wood Stoves

Buck woodstove models 18, 20, 21, 261, 51, 74, 80, 81, 85, 91, and Model FS21 will use a 3/4″ diameter rope gasket, part 1P3205. The Buck 26000 (Little Buck), 27000 (Regular Buck), 28000 (Big Buck), 30000 (Carolina I), and 31000 (Carolina II), will use a 3/8″ diameter rope gasket for the fire door, part 1P3202. The following Buck models will use this 3/8″ gasket for the ash pan door seal. Buck Model 20, 80, 81, 85, and Model 91. The firebox door rope gasket creates the seal from the front loading door to the stove body/frame. The ash pan door gasket creates the seal from the ash door to the stove body/frame. It's imperative these gaskets are making a tight seal all the way around to ensure proper combustion air flow, safety, and performance. During your annual maintenance, perform this dollar bill gasket check on your Buck woodstove.

With the stove off, use a dollar bill and place half in and half out of the door. Close the door and see how much resistance there is when pulling the dollar bill out. Check in multiple places around the door; there should be heavy resistance all the way around. If any areas have little or no resistance that is a good indication that your door gasket needs to be replaced. When it comes time to replace, follow along with our general guide video below.

Buck woodstove models 18, 20, 21, 51, 80, 81, 85, 91, and Model FS21 will use a 3/4″ flat tape style gasket for the window channel glass gasket, part 1P3208. The glass gasket creates the seal from the glass to the firebox door frame. Routinely inspect your glass gasket and replace when there are notable signs of wear, fray, or any air-gaps. Buck Model 30000 (Carolina I), Model 31000 (Carolina II), and Townsend III will use a low limit snap switch for the blower fan. As the stove heats up, this 110 degree limit switch will lock in allowing the blower fan to turn on. Our aftermarket low limit switch will replace factory part number PE-400132.
