Having the right tools to clean and maintain your Quadra-Fire wood stove or fireplace insert can make all the difference. By keeping your stove or fireplace insert clear of ash buildup and blockage, you will find higher efficiency, less fuel being used, and less problems you have to deal with. Specialty stove and fireplace glass cleaner will dissolve those stubborn deposits that accumulate on the glass. Pro Tip: Once the glass is clean, wipe over it with a damp rag or paper towel to remove any of the glass cleaner residue. This will keep it cleaner, longer.

Depending on the grade of wood, type of wood, and frequency of use determines how often you should be cleaning your burn grate weldment area. Inspecting and cleaning this area from ash build-up, clinkers, and grate blockages will ensure proper draft air flow. Check out our Super Scraper and Point Scraper; both do an excellent job in quickly and effectively removing build-up.

Keeping your heat exchange tubes free from ash ensures you are maximizing the efficiency from your Quadra-Fire wood stove. As ash collects on the heat exchange tubes, it acts as an insulator not allowing as much heat to penetrate. Bottle brushes do a great job at getting in between the heat exchange tubes for a deeper cleaning, and a wide dry paint brush can be an excellent tool in grabbing more service area. Always recommended to wear protective gloves, a mask, and to have a floor covering in place when working with fly ash.

Having the right vacuum cleaner is key in keeping the fly ash contained safely and effectively. Most vacuum filters are unable to handle the particle size of fly ash from wood stoves resulting in that ash being blown through the vacuum and into the home. Our Pellethead Ash Vacuum options have a dual flame retardant filter ensuring no ash escapes while being able to safely pickup warm ashes reaching 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ash Vault Pro is our 120V corded ash vacuum option, while our Ash Vault Pro Cordless is our 20V DC ash vacuum option. Check out the highlights in our videos below.
