How to Change an Auger Motor in a Harman Pellet Stove

  1. Hello, I have a older Harmon XXV that’s making a loud humming noise every time it feeds. I assume it’s a feeder motor or auger motor causing the problem. How do I know which auger motor I will need? I have not been able to find any serial number on the stove.

    1. Hey James, thanks for contacting us. Yes, a loud humming like that when the unit feeds is most likely coming from the auger motor itself. If your XXV has a chain driven feed system, you will require a 4 RPM Counter Clockwise Auger Motor. If your XXV has a direct drive feed system (No Chain), you will require the 4 RPM clockwise outboard auger motor. These two motors look quite different as well. References below.
