Freedom Independence PS21 Igniter
Genuine OEM replacement Freedom Independence PS21 igniter element. The igniter is located on the right side when facing the stove and mounts within a side housing to the burnpot. During the start-up cycle the igniter will receive an electrical charge allowing it to become cherry hot. The combustion blower air rushing past the igniter element in addition to the igniter air tube becomes super-heated creating fast ignition to the fuel in the burnpot. Once ignition is achieved and the unit goes into normal operating mode the igniter will turn off. If you are experiencing ignition issues, make sure there are no air losses or blockages in the unit. The igniter can be tested by checking the ohms to see if it is in proper range. Make sure your stove is unplugged from the wall and battery backup (if applicable) before servicing the unit.
