Genuine OEM St. Croix replacement vacuum switch, part number 80P20286-R. Correct replacement for early St. Croix pellet stove models manufactured in 2003 and earlier. The manufacturer date will be found on the UL label which is typically going to be on the rear/backside of freestanding models and on the inside hopper lid of fireplace insert models. This vacuum switch will be correct for the Afton Bay, Pepin, Prescott EX, Prescott EXL, and York Insert manufactured in 2003 or earlier. This will also be correct for the very early St. Croix models including the Bayport, Scandia, and Somerset pellet stoves. This is St. Croix’s newest style switch replacing the original signal nozzle metal pressure switch. Be sure to connect the hose to the POSITIVE (+) port when installing. Also referred to as the pressure switch or low draft switch, the vacuum switch senses air pressure in the firebox and exhaust flue vent pipe. The vacuum switch is in-line with the auger feed motor and will not allow the auger motor to run if it is tripped or faulty. Any air losses or air blockages can trip the vacuum switch. When experiencing issues with this safety switch, check the following: vacuum switch hose/tubing, firebox door and ash door gasket seals, ash accumulation in the stove or venting, air intake channel, combustion blower/exhaust fan functionality.
