The thermocouple is a safety sensor is placed over the firepot sensing temperature during start-up. Once proper temperature is reached, the thermocouple will lock in allowing the stove to go into normal operation mode. This listing includes the ceramic thermocouple protection tube cover, part number SRV7034-186. It’s very important the ceramic protection cover is in place during operation.
