The Heatilator WINS18, WS18, and WS22 woodstove models will use a 3/4″ round rope door gasket for sealing the firebox door to the stove frame/body. Over time the door gasket will wear and create air leakage which will affect your fire, efficiency, safety and performance. Regularly inspect your door gasket to ensure it's making a tight seal all the way around. When you need to replace, follow along with our installation video.
The Heatilator WINS18 will use a 3/4″ flat tape style glass gasket to create the seal from the glass to the firebox door frame. Visually inspect the glass gasket during your routine maintenance, and replace when there is notable wear, fray, or air-gaps.
Heatilator WINS18 and WS22 models will use convection blower 812-4540, 812-4900 to distribute and circulate the warm air into the room. For the WS18 and WS22 models we offer the BK-ACC blower fan kit with the rheostat and temperature sensor. It's important to be regularly cleaning your convection blower/distribution fan. Use a dry paint brush and compressed air to clean dust and debris from the impeller wheel and motor windings, and double check the label on the motor to see if your blower requires annual lubrication. We offer the blower control box as well as the blower rheostat which controls the voltage and blower output in your Heatilator stove.
The Heatilator WINS18, WS18, and WS22 models will have a 120 degree low limit snap switch in-line with the blower, part numbers 812-1560, SRV230-0470. This switch is normally open and will close once the determined temperature is met allowing the circuit to complete allowing the blower to turn on. As the unit cools, this switch will re-open at the determined temperature shutting the blower off. Learn more about limit switches and troubleshooting in our below videos.
